Environmental Sustainability
Acesco has adopted a responsible culture, through the identification of environmental impacts that are related to the manufacturing of its products, promoting a rational and efficient use of resources and guaranteeing the organization´s continuous improvement.
Carbon Footprint
Because the fixed sources have efficient control systems, Acesco decided to carry out a measurement analysis of its carbon footprint for three scopes. Based on this, action plans emerged that seek to reduce emissions of polluting gases, to comply with the parameters required by environmental authorities in terms of emissions. Currently, the Company complies with the maximum permissible emission standards according to the regulations on fixed sources, Resolution 909 of 2008.
Water Footprint
The measurement is done by adding the results from:

THE BLUE WATER FOOTPRINT
Related to direct and indirect water consumption.

THE GREEN WATER FOOTPRINT
Related to reuse of captured rainwater.

THE GREY WATER FOOTPRINT
Related to volumes and quality of liquid waste.
In Acesco the green water footprint is not measured, since rainwater is not captured for reuse in irrigation processes or systems.

The use of natural resources within the organization is oriented by the guiding principles of sustainable development. Preserving the water resource has been one of our priorities due to its proximity to the wetlands row on the eastern fringe of the Atlantic Department.
At Acesco, we have a biological wastewater treatment system through Phytoremediation, an efficient system that allows the elimination of dumping and the recovery and reuse of wastewater already treated in our irrigation systems and processes, thus contributing to the preservation of the ecosystem.
